Overview
A mobile app that allows users to book and pay for indoor mall games in advance and enter by scanning a QR code.
Built for gamers, parents, and mall visitors.
Solves long queues and slow manual payments at gaming entrances.
Problem
Indoor gaming spaces rely on on-site payments, causing long queues at entry gates during peak hours. This creates frustration, delays, and poor first impressions.
The issue affects customers who lose time and enjoyment, and operators who experience reduced throughput and missed revenue due to slow entry flow.
Goals
Reduce physical queues at gaming entrances
Enable remote booking and payment before arrival
Speed up entry using QR-based validation
Measure success through reduced entry time and smoother customer flow

Key Decisions
Chose mobile-first to match on-the-go mall behavior
Used QR codes instead of manual verification to minimize staff dependency
Limited booking flow to 4 core steps to reduce drop-offs
Designed for peak-hour congestion, not ideal conditions
Assumed smartphone access as a baseline constraint
Solution
A mobile app where users browse games, select time slots, and pay in advance.
A unique QR code is generated per booking and scanned at entry for instant access.
Design considerations:
Clear pricing and packages to reduce hesitation
High-contrast QR screen optimized for fast scanning
Edge states for expired QR codes, failed scans, and payment errors

Impact
Expected outcomes (conceptual):
Faster entry and reduced congestion
Improved user satisfaction and repeat visits
Higher customer throughput for operators
Reflection
What worked:
Clear problem focus and reduced scope improved decision-making
Designing for real-world constraints strengthened usability
What I’d improve next:
Validate assumptions with live QR scanning tests
Explore offline fallback for low-connectivity scenarios
